Fall News

Happy October everyone!

I hope that by now you’re enjoying the cooler weather, the fall colors, and the pumpkin-flavored everything…

Down here at the Jeff Brown camp, we’re gearing up for two months of shows leading up to the start of the recording process for the very first album with my band The New Black. We’re happy to announce that our next album will be produced again by Chicago Acoustic Underground’s label, CAUDog Records.

But until then, there are several chances to spend some time with us.

This Friday, October 3rd, I will be joining Sarah Blick on violin and vocals and Alex Gilewicz (of The Aldermaniacs) on cello and vocals at the Uncommon Ground on Clark Street. Music starts with us at 9:00pm. No Cubs game means plenty of parking!

Next Wednesday, October 8th, I will be sitting in with my dear friend and wonderful songwriter, Teresa Storch as she opens an evening of music at the Mayne Stage theater at 1328 W. Morse up in Roger’s Park. Doors open at 7:30pm, and we start promptly at 8pm. Advance tickets are available for only $5.

After that, The New Black makes its final Chicago appearance of the year at one of our favorite little venues in the city — The Throne Room. We’ll be in the middle of an evening of local music featuring Elle Casazza and The Aaron Williams Band on Friday, October 17th.
