Why I Fucking Love the Chicago Music Scene: Vol. 1

Jessica Varela wrote a song called Bubbles, that I borrowed a line from to write a song about a girl called Still Learning. Jeff Churchwell wrote a response to that song called Feeling/Falling. I wrote a response in support of my earlier song called Falling Apart. Tomlinson Fort wrote a response to that called Not Feeling the Falling. I was in that band. Morgan Foster wrote a song called April Says Goodnight, and joked about how he would someday write a smaller song to fit in the pause of that song. Every time I heard it, I bugged him about when he would finish it. He wrote a song in response to Tomlinson’s song called The Feeling of Jeff Brown Falling (I didn’t see that one coming). He put it in the middle of April Says Goodnight. Because the world is funny like that, I played April Says Goodnight in the pause of Falling Apart, while opening for Morgan Foster. Also, I wrote a song in response to that with my band called Last to Know.  It’s kind of like if rap feuds were nice.

We’ll see what happens next.

The moral of this story: this is all Jess’s fault.
